The Washington State Department of Transportation is currently recruiting for a Wounded Combat Veteran Apprentice – Transportation Technician 1. Under Bill# 5242: Combat Wounded Internship Program, this
position is expected to be filled by primarily a returning wounded combat veteran of U.S. operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, but will not be limited to veterans of those operations. Wounds can be physical or
psychological. The purpose of this position is to assist returning wounded combat veterans interested in the field of engineering the opportunity to revamp their old job skills and gain on-the-job training as a Transportation Technician 1.
